How will you use my donation?
The main way we support suicide prevention in Nebraska is through our Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Mini-Grant Program that annually awards multiple individual $500-$4,000 grants to local suicide prevention coalitions, Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS) Teams, schools, communities, and non-profit entities to support local suicide prevention and postvention efforts.
We also have utilized funds to help create the My Companion Phone Application that aims to give young Nebraskans a safe place to journal and connect to resources when they need them most.
In 2019, we awarded $18,596 dollars in mini-grants to 8 recipients.
In 2020, we awarded $30,289 in mini-grants to 15 recipients located in all areas of the state (from the Panhandle to Eastern Nebraska).
In 2021, we surpassed $50,000 in mini-grants awarded to Nebraska groups and organizations for suicide prevention and postvention efforts.
In 2022, we awarded just over $30,000 in mini-grants to 12 recipients.
